Early morning after having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha at around 0730hrs to 0800hrs you will be picked up by your personal driver guide and depart straight to Tarangire National Park whereby the drive is approximately 2.5 hours to the gate. Tarangire National Park is located on the northern part of Tanzania with a wide variety of animals and landscape whereby the best part is the elephant herds. It is known to be the park which has the greatest concentration of African elephants and the ancient baobab trees. Tarangire has an area of approximately 2603 square Kilometers and within the park it is possible to see plenty of animals like the giraffes, Zebras, Buffalos, warthogs, Lions, Leopards, Impala, gazelles, dik dik and many more species. In this park, there are more than 500 birds’ species like the bee eaters, swallows, ostriches, kori bustards, hammerkops, vultures etc. The word Tarangire comes from Mbugwe tribe whereby “Tara” means river and “Ngire” means warthogs therefore it is the river of warthogs. The Tarangire river is the life giving opportunity for both herbivores and carnivores and it is the best spot for the lions to hunt their prey as they search for water especially during the dry season. Lunch will be served at a picnic site at around 1200hrs to 1300hrs and after that you will proceed with your game drive until in the late afternoon where you will exit the park and drive straight to your lodge in Karatu for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast at your lodge in Karatu (around 07:30–08:00), you’ll depart for Serengeti National Park, driving through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area along the way.
The Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous park and one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries on earth. Its name comes from the Maasai word “Seringiti”, meaning “endless plains”, a perfect description of its sweeping landscapes. Spanning nearly 14,763 square kilometers, the park supports an astonishing abundance of wildlife — with over 2 million large mammals calling it home.
The Serengeti is best known for the Great Migration, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, where more than a million wildebeest, joined by hundreds of thousands of zebras and antelopes, move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. In addition, the park shelters an incredible variety of animals, from giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles, hippos, and hartebeests to top predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals. Bird enthusiasts will also find delight here, with over 500 species recorded, including ostriches, kori bustards, vultures, eagles, kingfishers, and colorful rollers.
The Serengeti’s landscapes are as diverse as its wildlife: short-grass plains in the southeast, rolling hills and rocky outcrops (kopjes) in the north, and the lush Grumeti River region in the west with its valleys and forests. Each area offers unique game-viewing opportunities and breathtaking scenery.
You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing your game drives into the afternoon. As evening approaches, head to your accommodation inside or near the Serengeti, where dinner and overnight await.
Experience a full day of game viewing across the endless plains of Serengeti National Park. Track lions, leopards, elephants, and perhaps even witness part of the Great Migration (seasonal). Your expert guide will choose the best wildlife routes for the day’s adventure. Relax in the evening and enjoy dinner under the stars at a Serengeti Camp.
After an early breakfast, depart Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater (about 3 hours). Stop at the viewpoint for stunning panoramic views before descending 600 meters to the crater floor for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to around 25,000 animals, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and the rare black rhino, along with 500+ bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at the scenic Ngoitoktok Hippo Pool before continuing your game drive. In the afternoon, ascend the crater and return to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
Personalized welcome at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport. Express airport assistance and Private airport transfers to/from hotels and lodges.
