Lake Eyasi

Visit Hadzabe bushmen and Datoga tribes for a cultural immersion

Overview

Lake Eyasi is a shallow, seasonal salt lake located in northern Tanzania, south of the Ngorongoro Crater and near the Rift Valley escarpment. While not a traditional safari destination, it’s a cultural and scenic gem offering travelers a unique opportunity to engage with indigenous tribes and enjoy peaceful landscapes.

This area is best known as home to the Hadzabe (hunter-gatherers) and Datoga (pastoralist blacksmiths), some of the last remaining communities preserving ancient ways of life.
